Reset and Refresh

Reset and Refresh

It’s a common phrase that absence makes the heart grow fonder, or in some cases gives you perception. I’m sure my absence hasn’t gone unnoticed  on here but sometimes taking a step back can be beneficial on all fronts. This past year has been a […]

Transition

Transition

The weather is slowly shifting to fall, and my excitement level is skyrocketing. With September, almost upon us, I am mentally preparing my wardrobe for cooler temps. I look forward to autumn every year when the first signs of fall fashion are placed in stores. […]

Once the weather switches over to the  high 70s and well into the 90s, my daily uniform becomes a dress. I have accumulated quite the collection of dresses over the years. Even though I strongly believe I can never own too many dresses, I  love and wear them all equally. Today is a repeat day for this floral number.

First Day

Today is the first day of spring, but I think Mother Nature got a little confused and thought it was the first day of winter. It started out light and fluffy where it melted as soon as it hits the ground but now it is […]

Baby It’s Cold Outside

Baby It’s Cold Outside

The first real snowfall (“blizzard”) has hit New York this week.  The entire city and media went into a state of frenzy.  Due to how much the media built up this storm everyone, including myself, dashed to the grocery store preparing for all of us to be snowed in for days.  Needless to say, the storm was not nearly as bad as they said, and now I have a ridiculous amount of groceries.  If only I was in the mountains and this snow could be used to ski.

Perfect Storm look up

It was a fun two days though being all snuggled up in my apartment with Ajax and my roommates.  Even though the storm was not nearly as bad as they predicted here are our snow day essentials

SNOW DAY ESSENTIALS

  1. Cozy Blankets, we made sure we had all our blankets on the couch so we all could stay warm while watch tv and movies together.
  2. Mugs filled with hot chocolate.  I don’t care that I’m an adult, I still enjoy a nice cup of hot cocoa.
  3. Candles.  Even though, we didn’t lose power, there is something about snuggling up and having candles lit.
  4. PJs that make you excited to lounge around all day.
  5. Slippers.  These are always my go-to when I’m spending a numerous amount of time in my apartment, especially during the winter months.
  6. Lastly, Netflix and HBO GO.

For all my readers that are more into snuggling up in bed to read a good book while music is playing here is my snow day music list.  I definitely had these songs playing throughout the day today while my youtube fake fire was playing on my Apple TV.

Winter is officially here which means my favorite season is over.  It is always bittersweet when fall ends because it means no more fall foliage and perfect sunny days but the start of my second favorite season begins.  I always joke with my friends and family that if there was a place on this earth where it was fall all year round I would move there in a heartbeat.  There’s something about that season that just makes my heart light up.  I always have a permanent smile on my face the minute I see that first yellow/red leaf.  It is so beautiful and breathtaking in my eyes.

Here is a roundup of all my favorite fall outfits, enjoy and reminisce with me for more fall foliage kind of days.

Look Back

Look Back

This year, 2014, has been a monumental year for me.  I graduated from college, backpacked across Europe by myself, moved to New York City (and then to Brooklyn), and got my first post-college job.  The year 2014 will be the year I look back […]
